Last weekend (July 26th & 27th) during the annual Georgetown Road 20 mile yard sale, we ran a promotion – anyone that signed up for our newsletter over the weekend would be entered into a drawing for a $25 dollar gift certificate. I’m happy to announce that Karen E. is the winner! Karen you should have an email from me – please get in touch with me and let me know if you want to use the gift certificate in person or online. Congratulations!
The Georgetown Road annual yard sale is a big event; its always held the last weekend of July and people come from near and far to find bargains. I have no idea how many yard/garage sales there are on our road this weekend, but there had to be dozens and dozens of sales. There was a steady stream of cars all day Friday and Saturday, starting bright and early till after 4:00. Our neighbors across the street always sell fresh Amish donuts, fry pies and the best homemade cinnamon rolls you’ve ever had! So of course I have to start the day off with sweets!
At the lavender farm, we didn’t have amish donuts (although we had Lavender bundt cakes & Lavender shortbread) but we had some great deals and sales, and we had so many people stop to shop our treasures and see the farm. One of my favorite pieces from the shop found a new home this weekend – this cute little sewing cabinet is the new home for this little girl’s doll accessories!
We also received some unexpected advertising the same weekend when Onlyinyourstate.com published a story on Fairlamb Lavender Farm over the weekend., and many people have contacted us for more information and directions to visit. All in all, we had a very busy yard sale, both in the shop and for the yard sale.
Put it on your calendar for next year – the last weekend in July, visit the Georgetown Road 20 mile yard sale, you won’t be disappointed! Don’t forget to come early on Friday and get some Amish donuts from our neighbors before they run out…
