June in our Lavender Field

Our lavender is growing and starting to bud as you can see in this picture!  Its so exciting to wait and watch for the lavender blooms, we have a few Big Time Blue blossoms already, and Melissa is getting pretty close to blooming here in NorthWest PA now that its finally stopped snowing and the weather is heating up!

This is a french lavender Phenomenal in the photo; its still maybe 3 weeks away from blooming but fast approaching.  It looks like we will have U-Pick lavender around the first of July,  watch Facebook for when you will be able to pick your own bundle of lavender.   Or call, message or email me if you have questions.

We’ve made many improvements on the farm since last summer – some can be seen, some can not.  Our drainage ditches are finally installed and we’ve done lots of land grading;  we needed to improve the water runoff and drainage.  The lavender shop now has electricity, we ran underground wiring to the barn area so we have lights in the shop!  Our house renovations are in the final stages, it looks like the house will be finished and ready to move into this year, very exciting!

June is a big month for celebrations in our family, between birthdays, anniversaries and Father’s Day, we go from one celebration to the next all month long.  One of my dad’s favorite treats is honey, so to celebrate Father’s Day, we’re running a special on Honey the rest of this month.  4 oz jars are on sale for $5 and 8 oz jars are on sale for $10 this month.  Doesn’t your dad – husband – grandfather want some lavender infused honey for Father’s Day?

Come visit our lavender farm, and see what’s new in the shop and how we’ve changed from last year.    We’re open Saturdays 12-5 for now,  as soon as the lavender starts blooming we’ll be open on Sunday’s also.  As always we are open by appointment, if you want to come on a weekday evening, bring a group, or have a private photography session, just let me know and we’ll work out something.
